The most famous Irishman alive? Probably.

Singer, songwriter, activist, showman, Bono has been fronting U2 since 1976.

In 2001, U2 played Slane Castle in Ireland for two memorable concerts. The first week Bono had just buried his dad, and the crowd carried him. This image was shot the 2nd week, on September 1st.

No one knew then, what would happen just 10 days later, in New York City.
