Part of the New York post punk / new wave scene, Blondie crossed over to have huge pop chart success. Their iconic singer Debbie Harry inspired a whole generation of women : everyone from Chrissie Hynde to Katy Perry was in some way influenced by her.

Quite simply, Debbie Harry led the way.
