Mick Hucknall - Simply Red

On hearing Simply Red's debut single in 1985, I, (like a lot of others I would imagine) thought the vocalist was a mature African-American. The fact that it turned out to be a young red haired Mancunian was quite a surprise, but it was no surprise that the band went on to sell 50 million albums worldwide, their infectious pop music fronted by Hucknall's vocals was irresistible.
