Ray Manzarek - The Doors

It's like something from a movie, but Ray Manzarek did actually meet Jim Morrison on Venice beach in July 1965. The rest, as they say, is rock history. The Doors would become one of the great bands of the 60's, and following Morrison's untimely, and some would say 'controversial' death in 1971, the band remain to this day, as popular as ever.

In July 2000, Manzarek was touring a one man show of songs and spoken word.When I suggested we take pictures at the piano, he said: "that's a good idea. I play the piano. Did I mention that?".
