The Chieftains

Paddy Moloney and The Chieftains, took Irish traditional music out of the pub and onto the concert hall stages of the world. They recorded with artists as diverse as Luciano Pavarotti and Roger Daltrey, and among many other achievements played on the soundtrack of Stanley Kubrick's movie Barry Lyndon.

This image was shot backstage in RTE, as the group prepared to go on 'The Late Late Show' in March of 1993.

My assistant managed to knock Derek Bell's harp over that night. She (and the harp) survived the incident!
